Tune shifts and Laslett coefficients (incoherent as well as coherent) are shown to form 2-nd rank tensors. Possible implications of this result are discussed. As an application, the normal mode (electrical) image coefficients of a square section liner are computed and found to be nonzero but smaller than those of the inscribed circular pipe in the neighbourhood of the diagonals.

Abstract
