Abstract
The ROP of large cyclic esters is an emerging research field, representing a promising route towards the production of degradable “polyethylene-like” materials from renewable building block. From these premises, we evaluated dimethyl(salicilaldiminato) aluminium compounds as precatalysts for the ROP of ω-6-hexadecenlactone, and we studied the feasibility of random and block copolymerization with both ε-caprolactone and rac-lactide. Furthermore, the presence of the unsaturation in the macrolactone provided a straightforward functionality for crosslinking and other chemical modifications.File in questo prodotto:
