The problem of studying the causes of obesity is largely discussed in theliterature by experts in nutrition and related diseases and is of particular interestin most recent years among scholars of business disciplines, especially asregards the impact on socio-health costs. After an overview of the geographicaldifferences of obesity, related not only to eating habits, but also to lifestyles aswell as hereditary factors, the purpose of this paper is try to trace the mainfunctional relationships between BMI and health-care costs through the use ofMultiple Corrispondence Analysis and Partial Least Squares Regression.
