In order to support pilots and flight management system through an increasing awareness of the meteorological conditions during flight, CIRA (Italian Aerospace Research Centre) developed a system gathering, processing and integrating observational and forecast meteorological data from different sources (e.g. satellite, in situ measurements, numerical weather prediction models) in formats suitable for onboard transmission and tailored on pilots and flight management needs. Abstract
The different tools (e.g. optimized maps and statistics) have been integrated in MATISSE (Meteorological AviaTIon Supporting SystEm) an ArcGIS Desktop Plug-in able to process raw data, store them and providing user friendly information for detection and forecast of aviation hazards.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
