This paper deals with debris avalanches and debris flows involving the pyroclastic deposits of the Campania carbonate slopes in Southern Italy. Detailed surveys carried out demonstrate the role of morphological discontinuities both on water circulation and on failure development. In most landslide cases, initial instabilities were triggered in correspondence of natural scarps or road cuts. According to that, some criteria in susceptibility mapping are provided based on slope geomorphology and on the presence of certain precursory signs.

Abstract
This paper deals with debris avalanches and debris flows involving the pyroclastic deposits of the Campania carbonate slopes in Southern Italy. Detailed surveys carried out demonstrate the role of morphological discontinuities both on water circulation and on failure development. In most landslide cases, initial instabilities were triggered in correspondence of natural scarps or road cuts. According to that, some criteria in susceptibility mapping are provided based on slope geomorphology and on the presence of certain precursory signs.File in questo prodotto:
