The Mediterranean Countries are a natural market and a strategic area to politics and economics of the European countries and Italy and Mezzogiorno in particular, it is traditionally an area from the common historical and cultural roots, but also a preferential market for foreign trade and a crossroads linking the flows between Africa and Asia. After many years since the Partnership and in view of implementing the new European policy towards the Mediterranean, it is more urgent than ever to reflect on what prospects there are today for the future of the countries bordering the Mediterranean into the new geopolitical and geo-economic context and, above all, what road to take to Europe, and with it an Italy in the middle of the Mediterranean. From these considerations, this paper focuses on the outcomes of the euro-Mediterranean Partnership between Italy and the PTM in its main form of economic cooperation, developing a series of reflections on the real prospects of trade cooperation of Italy and its southern area and the possible axes of future cooperation.

Abstract
From these considerations, this paper focuses on the outcomes of the euro-Mediterranean Partnership between Italy and the PTM in its main form of economic cooperation, developing a series of reflections on the real prospects of trade cooperation of Italy and its southern area and the possible axes of future cooperation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
