The diffusion of renewables in Italy: an Assessment model for the study of solar photovoltaic landscapes. In the coming years, the energy transition driven by renewable energies (RES) will play an increasingly important role in addressing the multiple challenges of climate change mitigation. This requires a broader and more complete consideration of the landscape concept in energy planning models in order to (re)balance the energy-landscape relationship, which is often the subject of conflict especially in the local context. In this regard, the study proposes a Landscape Assessment Model for a taxonomic analysis of solar photovoltaic landscapes in Italy through which to read the landscape characters but, above all, the changes induced by the use of green technologies according to a substantial, spatial and temporal qualification.
