This paper presents a novel methodology to assess sudomotor function since evaluating sweat gland activity is a valuable tool to obtain critical physiological measurements. Sweat activity can help diagnose autonomic neuropathy or monitor its progression. The proposed approach combines the advantages of established methods while integrating advancements in image processing and software automation. The introduction of a cylindrical adapter ensures consistent recording conditions, while a marker enables accurate localization of the areas of interest. Moreover, the developed software facilitates automated analysis of sweat glands activity calculating key metrics such as the number of activated glands, total sweat area, and sweat volume with minimal operator intervention.

Abstract
This paper presents a novel methodology to assess sudomotor function since evaluating sweat gland activity is a valuable tool to obtain critical physiological measurements. Sweat activity can help diagnose autonomic neuropathy or monitor its progression. The proposed approach combines the advantages of established methods while integrating advancements in image processing and software automation. The introduction of a cylindrical adapter ensures consistent recording conditions, while a marker enables accurate localization of the areas of interest. Moreover, the developed software facilitates automated analysis of sweat glands activity calculating key metrics such as the number of activated glands, total sweat area, and sweat volume with minimal operator intervention.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
