Investigation of the initiation and termination steps in syndiotactic-specific polymerization of styrene strongly implicates the occurrence of a Ziegler-Natta (i.e., polyinsertion) mechanism in the presence of the catalytic system Cp*TiMe3-B(C6F5)3. In contrast to a previous report, no evidence supporting a carbocation mechanism was found by alcoholysis of growing chains.

Abstract
Investigation of the initiation and termination steps in syndiotactic-specific polymerization of styrene strongly implicates the occurrence of a Ziegler-Natta (i.e., polyinsertion) mechanism in the presence of the catalytic system Cp*TiMe3-B(C6F5)3. In contrast to a previous report, no evidence supporting a carbocation mechanism was found by alcoholysis of growing chains.File in questo prodotto:
