The aim of this paper is to analyse the Single Resolution Mechanism, established by Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 and entered into force on 1 January 2016, particularly with regard to the principle of bail-in and to the balance of powers within it. Through this examination it will be possible to assess the actual extent of the integration in the EU of the resolution for banks.
