The aim of this paper is to analyse the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), estab- lished by Regulation (EU) No 1024/2013, particularly with regard to the relationship the SSM establishes between the ECB and national authorities of the participating Member States. It is firstly focused on the analysis of the general rule contained in Art. 6, para. 3, of the Regulation and on the evaluation of the criterion for the allocation of specific pow- ers. Secondly, it examines the relationship between the ECB and EBA in the supervision of credit institutions. Finally it shows the deficiencies in the SSM.
