Abstract
The current tourist consumption models refer to the territories to the construction of a new type of tourist attraction based on experiential paths. Starting from places, values, identity heritages and landscapes, the territories must be able to build and / or to re-propose “other” resources and itineraries linked to the local tradition. The promotion and use of historical-landscape-cultural heritage cannot be separated from the presence of an efficient transport network in support of the tourist offer: lately historic trains and new proposals for railway tourism have increased the national tourist offer as required by the by Strategic Tourism Plan 2017/2022 by Plan for Tourist Mobility 2017/2022. This paper, considering the recent experiences of slow and sustainable mobility, encouraged and supported also by the Law 128/2017 of institution of the tourist railways, has the two objectives: to investigate how much the historical train can contribute to the strengthening of the historicalcultural and landscape identities of the internal areas; to analyze what spillovers it can generate in terms of tourism, recovery and restoration of resources, protection of widespread territorial assets, revitalization of the most marginal territories. The thematic and technical cartography presented in support of the analysis will be an integral part of the work, an indispensable tool for the deepening of the topic covered, but also to support the planning, management, safeguard and development of the territory.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
