Abstract

The present work is focused on the development and testing of a software-based traceability system through Unified Modeling Language. The system has been conceived within an action research in which traceability requirements have been fronted and developed in industrial fruit-juice production. The approach adopts use case diagrams for software requirements modeling. The development of the software is described for each user involved into the specific production process. UML class diagrams describe the relationships design between objects and production process data. During the industrial application, the developed system has proven to be able to provide full product traceability features with the possibility to be customized as regards to different products and/or production processes.
