Purpose – In the last thirty years the link between firm age and performance has fascinated alot of scholars. The debate on this topic have produced mixed results, which resulted inextensive economics debate, albeit without a systemic vision. As a result, the firm ageliterature has not yet developed a paradigm and the purpose of this paper is to present areview of the existing literature.Design/methodology/approach – Author carried out a review of literature on firm age andperformance.Originality/value – Since 1990 there has been a major attention on firm age and firmperformance.
