An object oriented model for batch production processes data, designed with the Unified Modeling Language approach, is proposed. The model can be used to handle production data and their flow by allowing the traceability of the entire product history, thus enabling analysis of non explicit causes-effects relations between raw materials properties and final products features. A case study concerning the winemaking production process showing the usefulness of the model when integrated in a SCADA system is presented.

Abstract

An object oriented model for batch production processes data, designed with the Unified Modeling Language approach, is proposed. The model can be used to handle production data and their flow by allowing the traceability of the entire product history, thus enabling analysis of non explicit causes-effects relations between raw materials properties and final products features. A case study concerning the winemaking production process showing the usefulness of the model when integrated in a SCADA system is presented.
