Quasi-periodicity and nonlinear phenomena in open and closed loop boost DC/DC converters are analysed. A new discrete time nonlinear mapping, the impact map, which models closed loop DC/DC converters is presented and compared with the usual stroboscopic map. Also, it is shown that the converter can exhibit complicate periodic behavior and quasi-periodicity both in open loop, when stimulated by a suitable external sinusoidal disturbance, and in closed loop with an appropriate choice of the state feedback gains. Simulation results show that in the closed loop case Naimarck-Sacker bifurcation and self-sustained tori can be obtained.

Abstract
Quasi-periodicity and nonlinear phenomena in open and closed loop boost DC/DC converters are analysed. A new discrete time nonlinear mapping, the impact map, which models closed loop DC/DC converters is presented and compared with the usual stroboscopic map. Also, it is shown that the converter can exhibit complicate periodic behavior and quasi-periodicity both in open loop, when stimulated by a suitable external sinusoidal disturbance, and in closed loop with an appropriate choice of the state feedback gains. Simulation results show that in the closed loop case Naimarck-Sacker bifurcation and self-sustained tori can be obtained.File in questo prodotto:
