Abstract

A fast procedure for the technical Italy economic design of solar heating systems in agriculture, industry and buildings, with monthly heating requirements nearly uniform during a year, is discussed. The ″f-chart″ method has been enriched and suitably modified. The performance of single and double-glazed metal solar collectors and of rubber unglazed both horizontal and tilted solar collectors are evaluated; then design data for the chief towns in Italy are given, according to an economic optimization criterion. It is substantially based on both the Net Present Value method and the Actualized Payback period method. As an example, design and optimization charts, for Naples, are presented.
