Magnetostrictive materials are very interesting for many engineering fields in sensoric, actuation and energy harvesting. The talk will present the main feature of a new model of hysteresis for magnetostrictive materials. The model relates both the magnetic and magnetostrictive characteristics taking into account a thermodynamic compatibility. In the talk, a short introduction to the most relevant properties of magnetostrictive materials will be presented, together with implementations of the model and its agreement with experiments.

Abstract

Magnetostrictive materials are very interesting for many engineering fields in sensoric, actuation and energy harvesting. The talk will present the main feature of a new model of hysteresis for magnetostrictive materials. The model relates both the magnetic and magnetostrictive characteristics taking into account a thermodynamic compatibility. In the talk, a short introduction to the most relevant properties of magnetostrictive materials will be presented, together with implementations of the model and its agreement with experiments.
